BMC Rehabilitation Department
Rehabilitation
Department located in Bastrop Medical Center offers a variety
of outpatient services for adults and children. All services are
provided by a highly qualified and dedicated staff of physical
therapists, physical therapy assistants, an occupational therapist
and a speech therapist.
Outpatient Rehab Services include:
- Orthopedic therapy non-surgical and post-operative treatment
for inpatients or outpatients with fractures, joint replacements,
or other bone and joint injuries. Treatment is provided for
both acute and chronic conditions.
- Cardiac rehabilitation Phase III cardiac rehabilitation
for patients who may have had a heart attack or have coronary
artery disease.
Neurological therapy individual treatment plans for patients recovering from stroke head and spinal injuries, multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy and Parkinson's disease are developed by staff certified in neurological treatment. A comprehensive approach is used for treatment including occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech therapy and continuous communication with the referring physician.
- Pain Syndromes treatment plans for patients suffering from
chronic pain in the neck, back or extremities; pain from traumatic
injury; repetitive motion disorders; or fibromyalgia.
