Radiology
Smithville Regional Hospital's Radiology Department administers a wide variety of radiology and imaging procedures which help your physician determine the best treatment for you. The staff in Imaging Services are certified and licensed medical technical personnel. A visit to the SRH Imaging Department will give you access to more than 70 years of radiology and diagnostic screening experience.

Surgical Services
The hospital provides inpatient and outpatient surgery services for all age groups. Surgical specialists practicing at Smithville Regional Hospital include general surgery, plastic surgery, orthopedics, gynecology, and urology. Trained staff and specialized equipment are available for such procedures as hysterectomies, laparoscopic procedures, knee replacements, and others.

Medical Surgical Nursing
Currently we have a 27 bed Medical/Surgical Unit. Our nursing staff ratios allow nurses to provide quality care with a personal touch that is often missing in larger facilities. Our telemetry system allows us to monitor up to 12 patients continuously, without hampering patient mobility. 75% of the Med-Surg nurses have received training in advanced cardiac life support. This special training enhances the level of care and expertise available to our patients. All types of patients, from pediatric to geriatric, medical and surgical, receive quality care from quality nurses and supporting staff.

Emergency Room
Our emergency department offers full service emergency care. Our facility is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. For your safety, we offer a 6 bed ED, 5 of which have cardiac monitoring capability. The staff of the ED is ready to meet all your emergency health care needs. Our physicians, nurses and other allied health care personnel are specially trained and equipped to handle medical emergencies of any caliber.

Mother and Baby Unit
The Mother-Baby Unit opened in November of 1998 with the philosophy of providing the finest in maternity care with an emphasis on family centered care close to home. We have 16 staff with years of experience in Labor & Delivery and Nursery. All staff are trained in Neonatal Resuscitation, have successfully completed Fetal Monitoring courses and are experienced in assisting with breastfeeding.

Intensive Care
The 4 bed Critical Care Unit is available to provide high level nursing care for patients who require continuous, comprehensive observation and detailed intensive care in a caring atmosphere. This self-sufficient unit contains state-of-the-art monitoring equipment and full cardiac monitoring capabilities. All nurses assigned to the unit are intermediate-level trained and managed by highly skilled nurses with experience and training for a higher level of care.

Rehabilitation
Rehabilitation is a learning process.
It is sometimes difficult to make the transition from hospital to home after illness or injury. To ease the transition, the Smithville Regional Hospital's Rehabilitation Unit works with patients to become as functional and independent as possible. We focus on maximizing abilities and maintaining dignity.

Laboratory
Staffed with experienced registered technologists, the laboratory utilizes the newest state-of-the-art computerized analyzers. The laboratory performs tests for hospital inpatients and supports the hospital's Emergency Department.

Outpatient testing is also provided for home health nursing services, medical clinics, consultants, nursing homes, and out of town physicians.

Home Health Care
Smithville Regional Hospital Home Health Care approaches in-home health care holistically, caring for the physical, mental, social, and spiritual aspects of every patient. The staff includes registered nurses, licensed vocational nurses, home health aides, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, medical social workers, and a chaplain.
